The figure in the raven mask was the one who actually came for Adrian Valecourt. He fought with contempt, teleported short distances at will, and shrugged off everything the party landed on him — some protection tied to the mask seemed to cap all damage until a strike cracked it open. Under it he was an entirely ordinary-looking man.
When he had lost Adrian twice and had the party on him, he did not fight it out. He reached into his cloak, produced a token that anyone with magical sense read as brimming with more power than they had ever felt, told them he hoped not to see them again, and snapped it. All six of them appeared over the dead centre of the Abyss and fell.
He is distinct from the finch-masked cultists who channelled the portals, and appears to outrank them.
