The Raven's escape put the entire party in mid-air above the middle of the Abyss with nothing under them but a mile of nothing to either side. They fell long enough for the light from above to disappear entirely. The kobold cleric put up wards, the dragon slowed his own descent, and the sailor's training took the edge off his landing.
What stopped them was webbing — layers of sticky, threaded white material strung across the gorge, several of which broke before the rest held. Five of them landed in it; the dragon came down more gently. The session ended there: alive, tangled, in the dark, somewhere no one from Ironwatch has ever come back from.
