He speaks with a little Cajun buried under a heavy dose of French, which sits oddly with a name like Kozlov. Nobody at the ball asked, and he did not offer.

When Ottora returned the plate of yellow mushrooms to the serving hatch, the head chef reportedly blew up — he had cut them himself, and the accusation of poison was his to answer for. He scurried to a corner, retrieved something, and had a fraught word with the lord's staff about it.
When the ghouls came, the kitchen was the one part of the manor that stayed clear. The chef held the doorway on his own and dealt with whatever came through it, which suggests the manor staff are not all what they appear.
